Question 1

What is SchoolItPropa?

Accepted Answer

An offline-first school management platform: a desktop app for admins and teachers, a standalone computer-based testing app (PropaCBT), mobile apps for staff/students/parents, a public website for your school, and SchoolIt Social — a cross-school events feed.

Question 2

Does it work without internet?

Accepted Answer

Admin Desktop is offline-first: every write lands in local storage first and syncs to the server the moment connectivity returns. PropaCBT and the mobile apps require connectivity for exams and live features.

Question 3

Does my school get its own website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on the Starter plan and above. Every school gets a public website on a SchoolIt address, edited from Admin Desktop or the Staff Mobile app. On Growth and above you can use your own domain and the scratch-card result checker.

Question 4

How do I connect my school to its website?

Accepted Answer

In Admin Desktop, open School Website, choose your web address, fill in your pages, then switch the website on and publish. To use your own domain, add it on the same screen — we send you a DNS record to set at your domain registrar and connect it for you. Step-by-step instructions are in the app under Help → School Website.

Question 5

What can visitors see on a school website?

Accepted Answer

Only what the school publishes. Facilities, events, announcements and policies stay private until an admin switches each one on, and parents and students only ever see report cards the school has published.

Question 6

Can we run our interhouse sports in SchoolItPropa?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on the Starter plan and above. In Admin Desktop, open Interhouse Sports, create a meet, choose the houses taking part, add your events and athletes, and publish. Results are entered as each event finishes and the house standings update straight away. Step-by-step instructions are in the app under Help → Interhouse Sports.

Question 7

Who can follow the scores?

Accepted Answer

Once a meet is published, your students, parents and staff see it in the Explore tab of their app, with a live scoreboard. If you also make it public, other schools on SchoolItPropa see it in their feed and anyone can watch on your school website with no account. Until you publish, only your staff can see it.

Question 8

Who enters the results?

Accepted Answer

The school admin, plus any teacher or non-teaching staff member the admin makes a sports official. Officials can add athletes, set heats and lanes and enter results; only the admin can publish or delete a meet. You can make someone an official for just the day by giving them a duty.

Question 9

How does voting for house awards work?

Accepted Answer

For each award, such as Best Marching House, the admin chooses who can vote. Signed-in voting gives each parent, student and staff member one vote in their app. Open voting also lets visitors to your school website vote, one vote per device. That limit can be worked around by a determined person, so use open voting as a show of support and signed-in voting when the count needs to be strict. Votes never change the points standings.

Question 10

What is the Control Room?

Accepted Answer

One list, on the admin's home page, of everything in the school that needs attention: classes with no register, missed lessons, lessons with no teacher, reports not submitted, open discipline and maintenance cases, trips, and requests waiting for a decision. SchoolItPropa finds them in your records; nobody has to report them. It is included on every plan.

Question 11

How does an item leave the list?

Accepted Answer

When the record behind it is fixed: the register is taken, the report is submitted, the case is marked resolved. The admin can also close an item with a reason when it can't be fixed. A few kinds, such as a missed duty, can be marked done by their owner.

Question 12

Who is told about an item, and when?

Accepted Answer

Its owner first, for example the class teacher for a register. If the deadline passes, the staff who look after that area are told, and after that the admin. You can change the times for each kind of item in Admin Desktop under Settings → Control Room.

Question 13

What happens when a teacher is absent?

Accepted Answer

Their lessons for the day are listed as lessons with no teacher. The admin, or staff who monitor attendance, can assign a cover teacher from the list. Only teachers who are in school and free in that period are offered, and the cover teacher sees the lesson in their own schedule.

Question 14

What does the Teaching and Learning Quality Tracker show?

Accepted Answer

For each class and subject: what the scheme of work planned, which weeks the teacher has marked as taught, which questions tested each topic, and what students scored on them. So when a class does badly on a topic you can see whether it was taught, which questions tested it and which students may need it explained again. It also holds lesson observations and follow-up actions. It is on the Growth plan and above.

Question 15

Does it rate or rank teachers?

Accepted Answer

No. Every list is by class, subject and topic. Lesson observation levels are shown as words beside what the observer saw, and are never added up or averaged. A teacher sees everything written about their lesson once it is shared, can reply, and it cannot be changed afterwards.

Question 16

Which test results count toward a topic?

Accepted Answer

Questions answered in SchoolItPropa: computer-based tests, and objective questions in assignments. A question counts for a topic when its Topic box matches a topic in your curriculum library, when its assignment belongs to a scheme-of-work week, or when someone links it. Scores typed in as one total cannot be split by topic, and the screen says so.

Question 17

Who can use it?

Accepted Answer

The school admin and any staff member given the Academic quality permission see every class and can write observations. Every teacher sees their own subjects and classes, marks their own weeks as taught, and sees observations of their own lessons and their own follow-ups.

Question 18

Can parents pay school fees in the app?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In the Parent app each child has a Fees section showing the term's bill line by line, anything left from earlier terms, and every payment. A parent can pay by card, bank transfer or USSD, in full or in part. The school decides the smallest part-payment it accepts.

Question 19

Where does the money go?

Accepted Answer

To the school's own bank account. The school enters its bank details once in Admin Desktop, and payments are processed by Paystack and paid out to that account. SchoolItPropa never holds the school's fees, and neither the school nor the app ever sees a parent's card details.

Question 20

Is there a charge for paying online?

Accepted Answer

There is a small processing fee on each online payment. The school chooses whether the parent pays it on top or the school absorbs it, and the parent is shown the exact amount before paying. Payments made at the school in cash or by transfer carry no fee.

Question 21

Our fees aren't the same for every student. Does that work?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A term's fee structure has one amount for the whole school and can give any class its own amounts. Any single student's bill can then be adjusted for a discount, a scholarship or an agreed plan, with a note the parent sees. An adjusted bill is left alone when the term's fees are applied again.

Question 22

What happens to unpaid fees when a new term starts?

Accepted Answer

They stay on the student. A new term starts from the previous term's fee structure and every student is billed afresh; whatever is still unpaid from earlier terms shows beside it as a previous balance, in the school's Finance screen and in the Parent app.

Question 23

Which plan do we need for fees?

Accepted Answer

None in particular. Term fees, invoices, payment records and online payments are included on every plan, including Free.

Question 24

What plans are available?

Accepted Answer

Free, Starter, Growth, and Enterprise. See the Pricing page for a full comparison.

Question 25

How does the ad-unlock mechanic work?

Accepted Answer

On the Staff, Student, or Parent mobile app, watch a short rewarded ad to unlock one use of a feature from the tier directly above your school's current plan.

Question 26

Who can access student data?

Accepted Answer

Access is role-scoped: admins and teachers see their own school's data; students and parents see only their own/their children's records.
